Overview TC2 &TMI2 Combo (high volume roads)
This course is designed for those with some experience working in the traffic control industry and have already completed the TC1 and TMI1 Course.
Prerequisite
To be eligible to enrol in this training course you must have successfully completed a course in:
RIISS00058 - Traffic Controller - Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TC1) &
RIISS00060 - Traffic Management Implementer - Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TMI1)
You must also have at least 40 hours of experience working in a temporary traffic management workplace in a traffic controller role.
Coursework and Assessment
This course is a competency-based training program. You will be assessed via a combination of multiple choice questions, written response assessments, incident reporting, verbal questioning and practical skills demonstration and assessment.
20 hour Work Placement in a Live Traffic Situation
As part of this course, you will also be required to complete 20 hours of logged work placement controlling traffic with a traffic management company before completing your final practical assessment in a live traffic scenario. You must complete the 20 hours of logged hours and final assessment within 6 months of attending the coursework session.
Pathways
These units provide credit towards several Certificate II and Certificate III qualifications in the RII Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package and other training packages, such as RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent.
Localised Content
As part of your TTM training, you will also need to undertake state specific course content to be able to work in the Industry. This localised content covers additional guidelines and regulations that are specific to the State you are working in. If you decide to move interstate you will need to complete an additional localised content course in order for your training to be valid. After completing this training you will receive a Statement of Completion to prove you have the skills and knowledge required to work in the jurisdiction.

FAQs
If you have completed the TMI1 course you will be able to enrol into the TMI2 course, however you won't be able to enrol into the combined TC2 & TMI2 course.
Yes. If you have experience you may be able to apply for an RPL in recognition of your skills. Please call us to discuss this option further.
