Why do advanced first aid?
This course provides you with skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
Coursework and Assessment
This course is a competency-based training program, including multiple choice quizzes, incident report writing, and practical assessment.
What does this course cover?
This course covers: - Responding to an emergency situation - Applying appropriate first aid procedures - Coordinating first aid activities until the arrival of medical assistance - Communicating details of the incident - Review the incident - Managing casualties with: -- anaphylaxis -- asthma -- non-life threatening bleeding -- choking -- envenomation, using pressure immobilisation -- fractures, dislocations, sprains, and strains -- minor wound cleaning and dressing -- nosebleed -- shock -- life threatening bleeding
