Please note: On 21 January 2019, the training course for Security Officers was updated. The new course CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations supersedes and is not equivalent to the previous course CPP30411 Certificate III in Security Operations.
On 18 December 2019, Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) Commissioners agreed to extend the transition period of the CPP30411 Certificate III in Security Operations and CPP20212 Certificate II in Security Operations for learner cohorts in NSW, ACT, Tasmania and Victoria until 1 July 2020.
LRD (Licensing and Regulation Division of the Victoria Police) will continue to accept the CPP30411 when applying for a Private Security Individual Licence with the activity of Bodyguard until advised otherwise.

Coursework
This course is nationally accredited qualification. The purpose of this course is to ensure that all persons involved in the field of Close Personal Protection are suitably trained and qualified to perform their task in a professional manner.
The licensing regulations requires that all persons applying for a Bodyguard license complete the Certificate III Bodyguard with an accredited Registered Training Organisation.
Successful graduates are skilled to access, analyse and supply the resources needed to ensure the safety and protection of their clients. You must have completed the CPP30411 Certificate III in Security Operations core units and two additional CPP20212 Certificate II in Security Operations units as a pre-requirement for this course.
Coursework and Assessment
This is a condition of approval by the relevant state authorities. You will be professionally prepared and have confidence when confronted with the day to day duties as a security officer. This course is a competency based training program.
